Join the Brownsville Yacht Club
You don’t need to own a boat to join Brownsville Yacht Club.
BVYC brings together people who enjoy the water, the beautiful surroundings of Brownsville, and the company of others with similar interests. Whether you own a cruising boat, sail a small boat, paddle a kayak, are thinking about getting into boating, or simply enjoy being around the waterfront, you’re welcome.
We are a nonprofit organization staffed entirely by volunteers. Membership dues support club activities, social events, and our involvement in the Brownsville community.

Membership Benefits include:

• Club events and activities — Members are invited to club social events, boating activities, cruises, presentations, and other gatherings throughout the year.

• Use of the BVYC small-craft fleet — Members who complete a safety checkout may use the club’s fleet free of charge.

• Reciprocal privileges — Enjoy reciprocal privileges at 90+ participating yacht clubs and marinas, providing opportunities for guest moorage and visits throughout the region.

• Clubhouse rental — Members may rent the clubhouse at the Port of Brownsville for $75 per day.

• Local discounts — Members receive:

  • 10% off at the Brownsville Deli

  • 10% off at Sweeney’s Country Style Meats

• Most importantly, membership is an opportunity to meet other people who enjoy boating, the waterfront, and the Brownsville community.

Annual Membership Dues: 

• Individual membership — $125

• Family membership — $225

• Military discount — 10% for past or present military service

The membership year runs from June 1 through May 31. Dues are prorated for members who join during the year as follows: June - August: $125/$225, September - November: $94/$169, December - February: $62/$112, March - April: $56/$31, May: $0.  (Members who join during the "Membership May" promotion also receive a $25 Brownsville Deli gift card (quantities limited)).

There are no initiation fees.

A BVYC burgee is available for $40. Purchase is optional, although some reciprocal yacht clubs require visiting boaters to fly their home club burgee.
